Spin With Me

Spin With Me

Every so often I get the opportunity to sit together with someone who wants to learn a little more about a particular folk art. That is what Spin With Me is all about – learning alongside as I interpret at a historical venue here in Florida.

Recently Holly and I spent the afternoon sitting together making crocheted rag rugs – rugs crocheted from discarded twin sheets that we cut into one continuous strand of ‘yarn.’

Others have learned to spin both on a drop spindle and on a spinning wheel. Still others have learned how to needle felt. While other have done some weaving on a pin loom. Everyone has had fun dressing in costume and spending the afternoon in a historic structure.

Do you think this would be fun? Well, just send me an email.
