Fall and winter are the finest seasons to grow vegetables in Central Florida. In this informative presentation by the Gardens’ Director (and avid vegetable grower), learn how to grow armloads of vegetables for your family without poisons and pesky weeds. Learn more about which varieties grow best here, proper garden spacing, and when to harvest. If you enjoy eating market fresh vegetables, imagine how incredible freshly picked vegetables can taste.
Robert Bowden recently retired as Executive Director of Leu Gardens after nearly three decades. Earlier he was the Executive Director of the Atlanta Botanical Garden and Director of Horticulture of the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis. He is the author of many books including: Florida Fruit & Vegetable Gardening: Plant, Grow, and Harvest the Best Edibles. He also teaches several horticulture classes at Valencia State College.
